Excluding License & Support, new business Total Contract Value surged 83% YoY to $337 million in Q1, demonstrating strong demand for Unisys’s digital transformation services.
Operating cash flow rose to $33.3 million and free cash flow increased to $13.2 million in Q1, highlighting improved cash generation to fund growth initiatives or debt reduction.
A $700 million senior secured note issuance, coupled with a $250 million discretionary pension contribution, reduces pension volatility and refinances expensive debt, bolstering the balance sheet and lowering future pension contributions.
Q1 revenue fell 11.4% YoY to $432.1 million and Q2 revenue is projected to drop 9.6%, underscoring sustained top-line weakness and client spending pressures.
Unisys reported a net loss of $30 million (–$0.42 per share) in Q1, and analysts forecast a loss of $0.22 per share next quarter, reflecting erratic profitability and margin challenges.
The issuance of 10.625% senior secured notes adds significant high-cost leverage, likely increasing interest expenses and constraining financial flexibility amid slow revenue growth.
