Business accounts are here for Estonian private limited companies (OÜ or osaühing) that have the same person listed as a single owner, beneficiary and a director. The person must reside in a country in which Lightyear is already available for personal accounts (see "[What services do you offer and in which country?](https://golightyear.com/help/getting-verified/what-services-do-you-offer-and-who-is-eligible)").

These accounts are available for certain low-risk industries. Please see the document “List of high-risk industries” in our [Legal documents](https://golightyear.com/documents), which describe the industries we currently do not onboard.

A Lightyear business account is connected to the owner’s verified personal account but each account is created and managed separately. This means that deposits, conversions and withdrawals in your business account are separated from your personal account actions. It’s also important to remember that we can only accept deposits to Lightyear business accounts from the business’ bank account.

To open your first business account
- Go to your profile and tap "Open a Business Account" under your name.

To open another business account
- Tap on "Switch account" under your name and choose "Open a new business account" at the bottom. 

To navigate from one account to another, you have three options in the Lightyear app:
- Select your profile in the top left corner and tap on the account switch button under your name
- Tap and hold on your profile icon in the top left corner of the app
- Swipe up or down over your profile icon in the top left corner of the app

Getting verified

Our trading product is only available at this time on our Android and iOS mobile apps. We have plans to launch our services on our full website which we’ll share more about in future.

Do I have to download the app, or do you have a website?

As part of our ongoing due diligence and regulatory requirements, we sometimes require additional information about how you have generated your wealth (source of wealth) and connecting that source to the funds you have just sent us (source of funds).

### What is a “Source of Wealth”?
Your source of wealth generally refers to the activities which generated or significantly contributed to your overall net worth. This could be the accumulation of your salaried income, financial and other assets such as inheritance, investments, property sales, etc.

In addition to specifying your source of wealth, we may also ask for supporting documentation so we can verify the information you provided us.


Here are some common examples of sources of wealth and the relative documents we might require.

**Salary:** We may ask for one or more of the following:
- an employment contract or letter from employer confirming your salary
- recent pay slips
- last 6 months bank statements
- last annual tax return

**Property sale:** We may ask for one or more of the following:
- certified copies of the signed sales contract
- a signed letter from an attorney
- bank statements showing the amount received

**Inheritance:** We may ask for one or more of the following:
- a signed copy of the will 
- a court document
- certificate of inheritance (EU) or grant of probate (in the UK) 
- a signed letter from an attorney
- bank statements showing the amount received

**Other investments or sources:** We may ask for one or more of the following:
- investment certificates
- contract notes or portfolio statements
- confirmation from your investment company, bank, or brokerage
- a signed letter from an attorney or licensed accountant
- bank statements showing the amount received

Please note the above list is not exhaustive and we may require or accept alternative proofs depending on your circumstances. 

When asked, please submit entire, legible copies of the original documents. We won’t be able to accept partial, incomplete or ineligible documents.

### What is “Source of Funds”?
Your source of funds is specific to the particular funds you are using for a particular purpose, in this case investing with Lightyear.

For example, if you are using money you have received from your salary to invest with us, a payslip would be the “source of wealth” document and a bank statement would be the “source of funds” document.

Providing source of wealth

As a regulated financial institution, we have obligations to make sure we know who is using our service to ensure the safety and security of our platform. This means we may need to verify your identity or address and to do this we’ll ask for relative documents.

Typically our verifications are completed within a few minutes, however in some cases it may take one to two business days to complete.

## Verifying your identity

If required, we’ll ask for an accepted photo identification document. Documents we accept for this include:

- Passports
- National identity cards
- Driving licences
- Residence permits

NB! Please note that identity documents must include a photo. When submitting them, we will require clear, legible copies or photos, as well as both sides of the document if it is a national identity document, driving licence, or residence permit.

**Never send us your ID document via email, please upload it safely within the app, the upload link can be found on the “Explore” tab.**

## Verifying your address

Your document must contain the name and/or address you used to sign up with and if it's a bill, statement or rental agreement, it must be from the last 6 months. Proof of address documents we accept include:

- Utility bill (e.g. electricity, water, gas, telephone or internet bill)
- Bank/credit card statement
- Residence permit if your address is listed on it
- Signed rental agreement
- Document issued by an acceptable public (government) authority e.g. municipality bill, social insurance statement, or local government registry extract 

Note: If you submitted your residence permit to verify your identity, we can’t accept it as proof of your address and will require a different document.

**Please upload your document securely in the app through your profile.**

- Document issued by an acceptable public (government) authority. (e.g.  driving licence, council tax bill, municipality bill, social insurance statement, rental agreement, or local government registry extract)

Note: If you submitted your driving licence to verify your identity, we can’t accept it as proof of your address and will require a different document.
