Market order pricing before and during the execution of an order
Depending on agreements with our partners, some current prices in Lightyear are live, whilst others are delayed:
  • US Exchanges – Live pricing
  • DE Exchanges – Live pricing
  • ES Exchanges – Live pricing
  • Other EU Exchanges – 15 mins delayed
  • UK Exchanges – 15 mins delayed
What does live pricing mean?
A live price means you’re seeing the last known trading price for this instrument and does not mean this is the price your order fills for. Placing a Market order, you’ll agree to pay the market price which changes intra-second when the market is open, depending on trading volumes.
See Market and Limit orders to help you decide which order type fits your investment strategy the best.
Market buy order pricing before confirming an order
On the order confirmation screen of your buy order, you’ll see a reserved amount that includes an additional 5% buffer. We use this buffer to cover possible price fluctuations and give your order the best chance of filling when the market opens, and any funds not used will be added back to your account balance after the order is filled
